Shawn was called as pastor at New Hope in June of 2021.  He has been involved in pastoral ministry and ministry to families for over 20 years.  He previously served as a church planter and lay elder at churches in PLBA.  He has served in pastoral ministry, hospice chaplaincy, church planting, higher education, and community mental health.  He holds a PhD in Family Ministry from SBTS with additional coursework in Biblical Counseling.  He also holds a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from OBU.  He was ordained for ministry in 2014.  He labors to preach expositionally, teach transformationally, and shepherd authentically.

Shawn and his wife, Amber, have been married since 1994 and have five sons and one daughter.
